Engines that operate through internal combustion rely on large amounts of clean air to ensure the fuel burns properly and generates the power needed to drive the vehicle. At Drouin Automotive Services in Drouin, we understand how vital it is to keep your car's air filter in good condition as part of protecting your engine's health. Your engine requires extremely clean air to function efficiently. Dirt, dust, and other particles entering the engine can cause serious damage. That’s where the air filter comes into play. It ensures the air entering the combustion chambers is clean, shielding key engine components such as the pistons and cylinders from wear and damage. Why Replace Your Air Filter? Save on Fuel Costs: Your engine requires the correct balance of fuel and air to run efficiently. A clogged air filter restricts airflow, causing your engine to run inefficiently – often referred to as ‘running rich.’ This not only puts additional stress on your engine but can also increase fuel consumption by up to 10%. No one likes spending more on petrol than necessary! Protect Your Engine: Over time, air filters become clogged and weaker, increasing the risk of damage. A damaged or overly dirty air filter can allow harmful particles to enter the engine, potentially leading to expensive repairs. Benefits of Replacing Your Air Filter: Extends the life of your engine Improves fuel efficiency Reduces vehicle emissions At Drouin Automotive Services, we always check the condition of your air filter during every full car service. Whether it’s a major or minor service, or one that follows your manufacturer’s handbook or logbook guidelines, you can trust us to keep your engine running smoothly.

Keep your engine healthy with clean air filters. Improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and extend engine life. Visit Drouin Automotive Services for expert maintenance and reliable car servicing.

The intricate relationship between the steering and suspension systems in a vehicle is fundamental to its overall performance, particularly affecting the control, stability, and comfort experienced during driving. At the core, the steering system allows the driver to guide the direction of the vehicle, whilst the suspension system supports the weight of the vehicle, absorbs shocks from the road, and helps maintain tyre contact. Together, they work in harmony to ensure a smooth and controlled ride. A properly functioning steering and suspension system is crucial for safe driving conditions, as they directly influence the vehicle’s handling and responsiveness, thereby affecting the driver's ability to make accurate maneuvers and maintain control under various road conditions. Regular Servicing A regular suspension and steering service will ensure the comfort and safety of your passengers. The overall suspension and steering systems will be checked, the shock absorbers will be examined and replaced if required and a wheel alignment will be performed. All these activities will protect the longevity of your tyres and the overall efficiency of your car. When it comes to maintaining these systems, there are several key elements that can be serviced to ensure their optimal performance. For the steering system: servicing can include checking and adjusting the power steering fluid levels and inspecting the power steering pump and belts for wear or damage. For the suspension system: common serviceable components include the shock absorbers or struts, which dampen the impact of rough surfaces; the springs, which support the vehicle's weight and absorb bumps; the ball joints, which allow for precise control and movement of the wheels; and the control arms, which connect the suspension members to the frame. 4WD Lift Kits and Upgrades also available. Regular maintenance of these components is essential to prolong the life of the vehicle's steering and suspension systems, thereby ensuring a safer and more comfortable driving experience. If driving your car isn’t a pleasure anymore, get it into Drouin Automotive Services today for a steering and suspension service.
